October 24, 2009 is International Day of Climate Action. In anticipation of the nationwide movement, BU student groups will gather to make a statement on climate change. The goal is to lift public awareness of the need for an international climate treaty that would assess the environmental impacts of all countries. The 350 Campaign signifies 350 parts per million, the safest limit of Carbon Dioxide scientists we should have in our atmosphere to sustain human life. Right now, we are above this limit, but the goal of Climate Action Day is to show our politicians where we the students stand on climate change---It's Not Hot!
On October 23, 2009 the Environmental Student Organization along with Massachusetts Power Shift invite student groups to form a "350" on Marsh Plaza. A photograph will be taken of this occasion, and information booths will be set up so students can learn about their eco-footprints and what Boston University is doing to lowers its own carbon footprint.
